South Africa's Transport Promise
Transport services for the 2010 FIFA World CupTM will be greatly increased to accommodate the anticipated arrival of the many thousands of international spectators and South African’s who will travel to matches around the country.General spectators will be able to travel by expanded public transport between all host cities. Travel between the larger cities will be focussed on air. Connections to smaller host cities and for shorter distances will be served mainly by inter-city buses and trains.
Within host cities public transport network services will be extended and where insufficient these will be supplemented by event based park and ride services to the stadiums and fan parks.
In addition to public transport there is an extensive tourism/charter transport industry and vehicle hire company for the independent traveler.
